The company has announced a Continuous Data Protection (CDP) Version 2.2 backup and recovery solution that aims to cover all available options including instant recovery and local archiving, offsite data backup and bare metal recovery.

The appliance is available in four models—the CDP 1440i, the CDP 2440i, the CDP 3440i and the CDP 4440i—which scale from 15 to an unrestricted number of users.

Symantec Ghost Suite 2.0

Symantec has announced Ghost Solution Suite 2.0 with support for Windows Vista and 64-bit Windows. It aims to simplify Windows deployment, migration, and software distribution. The central management console simplifies the management of desktops, notebooks, and servers, as well as advanced remote and mobile systems. Also new in Ghost Solution Suite 2.0 is the ability to edit NTFS images.

This functionality, on top of the existing ability to edit FAT and EXT2/3 images, enables administrators to add, remove, and modify files and folders within Ghost images regardless of the underlying file system. The product includes built-in comprehensive software tutorials. Symantec also offers training classes.
