Credit Suisse opens centre in Pune

Credit Suisse has opened its third Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Pune. The other two are in the US and Singapore. This step builds on Credit Suisse’s plans vis-à-vis global outsourcing to tap talent and maximise the efficient use of the bank’s resources. The centre in Pune will support the bank’s business operations across 50 countries. It plans to hire 1,500 staff over the next 18 months.

The bank has signed a two-year contract with Wipro Technologies that covers lease of premises, and the provision for various outsourced technical services related to banking functions such as IT, operations, and front-office analytics and finance. The CoE is expected to be operational by January 2007.
