Vaakya launched
Vaakya, a Bangalore based technology firm, has announced the launch of its
technology platform and scripting language VAAKYA to build, test and deploy
enterprise software applications. Vaakya has been developed entirely in-house
in Bangalore after R&D conducted over nearly three years. The beta version
of Vaakya Business Application Framework developed on this platform has been
released. The goal of this project was to simplify the design, coding and deployment
of enterprise software applications. Software vendors developing applications
on Vaakya can reduce turnaround time to go to market and deliver software applications
across various models namely standalone, client-server (LAN or Web) as well
as SaaS (software as a service).
The beta version offers a complete integrated suite of infrastructure and framework
components. This includes IDE (integrated development environment), database,
Web application server; graphics engine, communications interface, and client
/ server components, all in a tiny footprint of less than 1.5 MB.
The framework claims to be compatible with Windows, Linux and FreeBSD and can
be used on Desktop PCs, servers and handheld devices such as PDAs and mobile
phones.
A 45-day trial of the framework is available at www.vaakya.com.
Developers, programmers, architects and technology enthusiasts may find it worth
their while to evaluate it.
