Strategies 2006 was informative
This is with reference to Network Magazines
June 2006 edition and the splendid articles on Infrastructure Strategies 06.
It was informative. I would like to appreciate your efforts and the content
provided in this edition.

It is great to hear that you found the content relevant.
Infrastructure Strategies will continue its endeavour to provide content that
is of high utility value to the CIO.
Please do send us more feedback on how we can increase
the value of efforts such as Infrastructure Strategies.
Focus on SMBs
It is my grievance that Network Magazine does not
provide enough coverage to the growing SMB segment. These companies are going
through teething problems of different dimensions than those experienced by
large enterprises which already have most of their infrastructure in place.
I would like to request you to dedicate a couple of sections in the magazine
to this growing market.

IT adoption among Indian SMBs has been happening at a rapid
pace in recent times. We will certainly be focussing on this segment through
Network Magazines sections. Your suggestion of adding dedicated sections
is apt and we will certainly be looking at how this can be achieved.
As part of this endeavour this issue of the magazine has
SMB relevant content that you may find useful.
Information on KDMC required
I am a faculty member in the department of IT at SDM Institute for Management
Development, Mysore. I am also on the IT Panel of CII (Confederation of Indian
Industry), both in Mysore and Bangalore.
I am writing this to seek additional information on the Kalyan-Dombivli
Municipal Corporation case outlined in the November 2005 issue of Network
Magazine.
I would like to have details such as
1. Who sponsored the project?
2. How was [is] the funding done?
3. Who was responsible for software development, hardware and commware supply,
installation, and maintenance?
4. More about the modules, development platform, implementation plan and actuals.
The reasons for my seeking these details are twofold; Firstly, I have quoted
this case in a paper I am presenting at the Knowledge Management International
Conference & Exhibition 2006 being held at Kuala Lumpur under the auspices
of University Uttara Malaysia.
Secondly, as an IT Panel Member of the CII both in Mysore and Bangalore, I would
like to explore possibilities of replicating the KDMC case, with whatever variations
that may become necessary or possible.
I would appreciate your help and support in any manner possible, including putting
me in touch with the persons concerned at KDMC.

This is with reference to your communication regarding
the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation. You can get in touch with Mr Subhash
Patil, KDMCs Head of IT, who is spearheading the initiative, for the details
you have sought.
Mr Patil will be able to give you something more than
what you have asked for. The contact details of Mr Patil have been despatched
to you. All the best for your paper, and please do write to us about how it
went.
We would also be interested to learn about any replications
based on the KDMC model that you might be carrying out.
