New Unix flavour
There have been multiple Unix and Linux flavours to choose from on the OS front
for a while. Now there is one more Unix descendent to check upon for the desktop.
FreeBSD has decided to develop and launch a desktop edition operating system.
The developers for the same are initially working on integrating FreeBSD with
GNOME and add plug and play features. There are also plans to add KDE support
in the near future.
FreeBSD is known for its stability and smooth compilation of data. With this
new product launch the competition has driven further within the various open
source OS and also for proprietary-based software operating system. Besides
FreeBSD, DesktopBSD and PC BSD are also working on desktop versions.
