Cubix PN9108
The
PN9108 (Power over the NET) from Cubix Micro Systems is a control unit that
is said to provide remote power management for eight AC outlets via a TCP/IP
connection. A local and remote user can log in simultaneously from the LAN or
the Internet by using a browser GUI.
Each server connected to an AC port can be individually restarted or shut down
without affecting other connected servers. Up to 15 additional stations can
be daisy chained.
PN9108 has an adjustable front panel to fit in a 1U rack. The unit works with
the Altusen SN0108/SN0116 Serial over the NET. PN9108 comes with a plug-and-play
set-up with no additional software required. The unit also has built-in features
such as automatic port ID identification and password protection.

Peak, which includes three modelsX5000, X6000 and X8000.
Firebox X Peak offers up to 1 Gbps firewall throughput, 10 ports that allow
segmentation of high-value operations, port independence, up to four external
interfaces, and integrated firewall/VPN. Running on the appliance is Fireware
Pro, a security and network operating system that offers layered security, dynamic
routing and traffic management.
The company has also launched a new Gateway AntiVirus and Intrusion Prevention
Service (GAV/IPS). This signature-based security option identifies and blocks
malicious network traffic and code. Additional security features such as gateway
antivirus, intrusion prevention, and Web content filtering can be added.

Macromedia has launched Macromedia Breeze 5, which delivers online conferencing
and collaborative Web communications. According to the company, the product
features a simple user interface, and can be deployed without changing the existing
client infrastructure, as Flash Player is already deployed on multiple platforms,

Breeze 5 includes VoIP, on-demand video, and real-time, multipoint video conferencing.

for data, voice and video applications including data backup, remote storage

range). It provides fibre-speed encryption at up to 10 gigabits per second.
The SafeEnterprise SONET/SDH encryptors come in four varieties at speeds of

Oracle has launched the Oracle Identity Management suite that aims to safeguard
information, critical systems and applications from unauthorised access. The
suite can serve as the security backbone for Oracle Fusion Middleware.
The new release brings together identity management capabilities from Oracle
and Oblix. It includes enhancements to the components. First comes Oracle COREid
Access and Identity that has updated support for IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic
portal servers. Oracle COREid Federation has incremental Oracle Database and
SQL Server support for federated identity information. In Oracle COREid provisioning,
the Oracle Internet Directory-provisioning platform has been certified. Additional
