Integrated devices top SMB security charts

Anthony Chapman, Director - Sales, APAC, SonicWALL, says that the concept of enterprise security has evolved and companies are preferring integrated security appliances.

What kind of security devices currently sell the most in India, and why?

Without a doubt, Integrated Firewall Appliances form the large chunk of security devices sold. These appliances include firewalls for perimeter security, and address other security issues such as gateway anti-virus, VPN, anti-spamming and content filtering-all at a competitive price.

India has a sizeable SMB and SOHO market. This market is typically interested in having a one-stop hassle-free solution, given the overtaxed nature of their IT budget. With Wi-Fi taking off, we are seeing good interest in wireless security devices as well.

How has the concept of enterprise security evolved?

Customers are demanding solutions that are proactive in their approach. Organisations are becoming stricter about enforcing security policies. Apart from this, customers increasingly want solutions that go beyond their core activity.
