Founded in 1999, Net 4 India Limited (Net4India) is an enterprise service provider
operating in the IP communication infrastructure and services space. Services
provided by Net4India for enterprises include data or Web, access and VoIP services
(for ILD).
The company's Web site services are targeted at companies that require an online
presence—for example, either through a Web site or an e-commerce store
for conducting online B2C or B2B transactions. Its service offerings include
bandwidth for Internet access, co-location of servers, Web site hosting, IP-based
voice and telephony solutions, domain name registration and remote data backup
solutions.
On the service quality side, Net4India claims to maintain
SLAs with high uptimes conforming to international standards. Uptimes of 99.99
percent are claimed to be guaranteed under the SLAs signed between Net4India
and its clients.

(IDCs) in India, which are located at Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai,
Hyderabad and Pune. It offers server co-location or server hosting services
at these IDCs that are also used for DR and remote backup of critical

The principal services offered by Net4India include hosting
(shared and dedicated), corporate mailing solutions, domain name registration,
server co-location and secure certificates. Net4India has collaborative agreements
with leading vendors for providing these solutions.

customised managed services for its high-value clients.
According to the information provided by the company, 75,000 Web sites and over
800,000 corporate e-mail boxes are hosted on Net4India's network. E-mail services
support advanced features such as personalised corporate Webmail, spam filters
and anti-virus software.
Route to the net
 Next,
comes the set of Internet access services offered by Net4India. The services
portfolio of the company in this segment comprises mainly managed Internet bandwidth
solutions.
Access services offered by Net4India are primarily in the area of dedicated
Internet leased lines, ISDN, fixed wireless and broadband connectivity. These
services are targeted at large corporate entities, BPOs, educational institutes
and PSUs.
Net4India's access services are primarily provided through
'Dedicated Internet Leased Circuits'. These circuits are established between
Net4India's NOC (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune) to the
business's office premise. The last mile (local loop) is established on copper
channel through BSPs (basic service providers) such as BSNL and MTNL.
Currently, the fixed wireless service offered by Net4India
is provided on a Point-to-Multipoint technology operating on the 2.4GHz frequency.

international calls at rates starting from Rs 2.90 per minute. The solutions
provider also allows businesses to choose from a range of VoIP hardware according
to their needs. These hardware options are tried and tested by Net4India.
Prepared for all eventualities
Net4India maintains redundancy of electric power through multiple power suppliers,
online load balanced UPS and auto start backup generators.
Net4India also maintains stringent policies for bandwidth redundancy. It has
redundant Internet gateways at Mumbai and Chennai. In addition, it maintains
redundant bandwidth by acquiring bandwidth from various international networks
and players.
The six data centres by themselves provide an inherent redundancy and businesses
have the option to backup their data at more than one IDC.
