Gartner acquires Meta Group

Gartner, a provider of research and analysis on the global IT industry will acquire META Group Inc, an IT research and consulting firm.

Gartner will acquire META Group in an all-cash transaction valued at $10 per share, or approximately $162 million. The boards of directors of both companies have unanimously approved the agreement. The acquisition is expected to add value to Gartner's core research capabilities.
