I would like to thank the entire organizing committee of Indian Express Group
for working out such a wonderful event and making it a grand success. In spite
of a few hiccups the event was marvelous.
I would like to appreciate each and every one on the committee who took a patient
hearing to all the problems and resolved the issues very efficiently.
I wish them all the luck in all their future endeavors to organize similar events,
and reassure them that they will get all the support and backing from all the
CIOs in India.
I suggest you host the next year's event at Nepal, Singapore, or Malaysia.

Dear all
Thank you so much for your kind words of appreciation. The events and editorial
teams at Network Magazine are absolutely thrilled by the response we have received
from you.
We look forward to meeting you all at next year's Technology
Senate, and hope to see you at other conferences and events we organize throughout

Increase the domain
I have gone through the 'Hi-Tech Hotshots' section of Network Magazine, which
cover professional and personal activities of CIOs, and lets us know their thoughts
about various aspects. I personally feel that CIOs should look beyond IT and
should increase their domain of work and expertise. This will give them a truer
feeling of being in the mainstream of the organization.

Dear M K Mittal
Thank you very much for sharing your point of view with us. I am sure many CIOs
will take your opinion seriously and begin to look beyond their IT responsibilities
in their organizations, and consequently achieve better professional fulfillment.
I subscribe to your magazine and read each issue regularly. I find the articles
that you publish to be very helpful indeed.
I have recently joined as a network engineer and manage call center equipment.
Is there much future scope and prospects in the area of managing Definity switches?
Regards
Aninda
Network Engineer
Samsung India, Delhi
Dear Aninda
We had forwarded your query to Rajiv Gerela, General Manager - Technology, Wipro
Spectramind Services Ltd, and he has written the following:
Definity switches are manufactured by Avaya Global Connect in India (earlier
called Tata Telecom Ltd). These switches are mostly used by call centers and
also companies as office PBX systems. Due to the high growth of call center
services in India, these have been deployed in large numbers. So there would
be lots of possibilities of getting good opportunities on Definity systems.
But yes it would help if you can gain good exposure to all the different systems
and setups.
I hope this advice can help you.
Aninda's follow-up mail:
Thank you for the very useful advice. I appreciate the effort that Network Magazine
has made in order to get the query answered by an industry expert.
Regards,
Aninda
