Note Taking Software

One Note

OneNote 2003, by Microsoft, a digital note taking software is aimed at desktop, laptop, and Tablet PC users, who take extensive notes for professional or personal use. The program pairs the functionality of a paper notebook over digital media, facilitating capture, organization, search and reuse of data.

OneNote users can capture text using a keyboard or a stylus, while pictures, drawings, audio as well as video clips can be easily collated into a single file. Users can even take notes from a Pocket PC or SmartPhone and add these to these to the OneNote file, which can then be shared with others via email.

OneNote users can capture information in multiple ways - by clicking anywhere on a page a user can type or write, draw diagrams and pictures using a pen-input device (with a Tablet PC). The user can record audio notes that sync with his or her typed or written notes. Pictures, diagrams, text and other information can be inserted from a Web site with a reference to the Web address. OneNote side note, a smaller version of OneNote can be accessed for typing or writing notes on the go. OneNote 2003 also allows users to format and rearrange notes, perform keyword search and email & publish the notes as HTML.
