PortWise Mobile Security Solution SSL VPN On Sun is a security solution consisting of the PortWise mVPN Access Server, PortWise mVPN Management Server and PortWise mID Authentication Server, the PortWise product suite creates an end-to-end solution.

Placed in the DMZ, the PortWise mVPN Access Server manages the user access from the external network to the applications in the internal network. PortWise mVPN does not connect to the corporate network directly but proxies the traffic instead. Before any request is sent to the application it is validated against a security policy.

The PortWise mVPN Access Server also enables secure access for thick clients (such as Outlook) without any VPN-client installation. Users can connect to web applications, client-server applications, e-mail applications, file servers, host systems using an industry standard browser.

No user information stored on DMZ (i.e. for Single Sign-On or authentication purposes) is stored on the DMZ. PortWise mID Authentication Server is an authentication server for stronger user authentication.
