Growing needs of businesses

A study by PWC titled 'Technology Forecast: 2003-2005' reflects the growing importance of two requirements for businesses today: the need to make informed decisions, and the need for real-time responsiveness.

Business Intelligence (BI) capabilities are increasingly being built into the applications used to automate processes, as well as into specialty BI tools and applications. During the forecast period (2003-2005), it will become increasingly unlikely for vendors to introduce major process automation applications without including significant BI capabilities.
