eBusiness Applications
Siebel 7.5 is the latest release of Siebel eBusiness Applications. It features twenty industry-specific best practices for multi-channel sales, marketing, service, and partner and employee relationship management.

Features: -

The product comes with support for Web Services and Universal Application Network (UAN), which is a standards-based solution for multi-application integration. Siebel 7.5 allows interoperability of Siebel eBusiness Applications with Microsoft .NET and J2EE-based applications.

Siebel 7.5 supports standards such as Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) and provides the ability to publish business services and workflow processes as Web services. It is possible to generate WSDL documents for business services and business processes, which are exposed as Web services. External tools can use these WSDL files to develop applications that interact with Siebel Web services. The protocols can also invoke a Siebel published Web service via HTTP, MQ, and MSMQ.

Some of the new key features are in Siebel Sales, Siebel Interactive Selling, Siebel Marketing, Siebel Field Service, Siebel Call Center, and Siebel PRM.

Siebel 7.5 also introduces significant new functionality within the Siebel Analytics and Siebel Employee Relationship Management (ERM) product lines. Integrated across all Siebel eBusiness Applications, Siebel Analytics 7.5 is claimed to provide role-based analytic applications to deliver relevant, actionable, just-in-time intelligence to employees, partners, and customers. New Siebel 7.5 Analytics applications include Siebel Executive Analytics, Siebel Incentive Compensation Analytics, and Siebel Product and Pricing Analytics.

The embedded best practice business processes are those such as performance management, training, and employee self-service and corporate-wide access to resources, news, and other information.

nPatrol IDS v2.0
nSecure's latest version of nPatrol IDS offers a signature count of up to 1600.

Features: -

The new version offers IDS management features such as better correlation of alerts generated, automated reporting, interfacing, and exporting of data; storage and archiving of data; etc. 'Watch windows' help users get customized views of alerts raised on target systems or applications.

IDS management is claimed to be enhanced due to the use of context sensitive techniques to help reduce false alarm rates. Custom settings based on the target system are also possible in the IDS.

DX 1600

The DX1600 range from DAX consists of entry level modular routers. The routers have been targeted at SMEs, banks, and telcos.

Features: -

DAX claims that with modular LAN and WAN interfaces, the range offers flexible configuration. VoIP modules for voice solutions over the existing data network are available. Industry standard routing protocols along with support for NAT are available. Disaster recovery for a leased line is available in the form of an automatic switchover ISDN backup.

Integrated security features are claimed to have been built into the DX 1600. DAX offers a three year warranty and online support. The routers are priced at Rs 40,000 without the modules.

POWER CONDITIONING
30 - 60 kVA Medium range UPS

The iTrust range of 30 kVA to 60 kVA from Emerson Network Power is targeted at banks, IT companies, telecom, industrial and medical segments.

Features: -

The range consists of three models of 30 kVA, 40 kVA, and 60 kVA. These online sine wave three phase UPSs make use of online double conversion and is claimed to have less than 3 percent of input current harmonics. Being DSP based, they allow remote monitoring and self diagnostic programs. The use of IGBT rectifiers is claimed to help provide unity power factor and a voltage band range from -45 percent of +15 percent.

CABLING
Cat 6 products

D-Link India's latest offering is their range of Category 6 cabling products. Use of larger copper conductors with an internal divider is claimed to separate pairs and reduce crosstalk.

The main Cat 6 cabling products are: -

UTP Cable:
These cables are claimed to be in accordance with the latest TIA/EIA-568-B.2.1 Category 6 specifications. These UTP cables are designed for use in factory (noisy) environments.

UTP Patch Cord:
D-Link claims that due to their 3-piece RJ-45 connector design and precise pairs location, the patch cord helps provide virtually no loss data flow. It is claimed that parameters such as crosstalk, return loss, etc are well controlled.
