D-Link's
Airplus DI-714P+ has been intended for ordinary WLAN
setups. The model also provides additional management
settings.
Features: The D-Link Airplus DI-714P+ is a 2.4
GHz wireless router that can provide data transfer rates

Storage
solution
Apple Xserve RAID
Apple's
latest version of the Xserve storage solution holds
up to 14 hot-swappable 1U Apple Drive Modules in a rack.
The modules can go up to provide a maximum storage capacity
of 2.52 TB in a single rack.
The Xserve features ATA/100 drive technology and 2 Gb
Fiber Channel host connectivity. In the Xserve, each
7,200 rpm hard drive connects to a dedicated ATA/100
drive channel. Apple claims that this eliminates bottlenecks
and maximizes the 400 Mbps Fiber Channel host connection.
Redundant hot swappable drives and cooling modules are
standard features of the Xserve. Environment management
coprocessors are used to monitor and manage the RAID
set and enclosure conditions. There is also a RAID Admin
utility, which uses the environment management coprocessor
to build multiple RAID sets on the fly. This is claimed
to help bring storage online instantly without the need
for initialization. Storage can be managed over the
Internet as well since the Admin utility has been written
in Java.
Warning features include 48 blue LEDs down the middle.
These display alerts such as activity levels for each
host channel, and Fiber Channel indicators showing link
status.
