Banyan
Networks is an ISO 9001 certified company, that designs and
develops software and related hardware systems in the field
of networking and telecommunication, and is a Government of
India recognised R&D Company. It has been set up by professional
engineers with a vision to

markets. Banyan has already developed several leading edge technologies
in the areas of Ethernet Switching, Voice on Data, and high
speed remote connectivity. Incorporated in 1995, Banyan has

Banyan
has an ongoing relationship with the Indian Institute of Technology-
Madras (IIT-M). Many of the products are designed and developed
jointly. A monolith R&D team of more than one hundred engineers
and top-notch researchers work with state-of-the-art facilities
to create path-breaking technologies. This relationship is one
of the finest examples of what industry-academia linkage can
achieve in developing high value, high quality products. How

of several networking products to licensees in India and US.
It is probably for the first time in the history of Indian IT
industry that a networking product was developed in India and
licensed to a US based company, for manufacturing and marketing
in US and other international markets.
The Ethernet Switch that was developed also won the Finalist
of Best of Show competition, at Interop’96 in Las Vegas.
Banyan, in partnership with IIT-M, has developed other networking
products, which have been licensed to various Telecom Service
Operators in the country. Banyan sees the combination of its
own intrinsic design capability with the research oriented inputs
of IIT-M as a major leveraging factor for it to have emerged
as a leading technology provider in the country. The Company
has a strong management team in place, state-of-the-art design
and development facilities and top notch engineers. Recently
the Company raised funds from Intel Capital (USA), IL &
FS Venture Corporation (India) and Sycamore Ventures (USA) to
finance its growth and development activities.The company is
audited by the Ernst & Young International through their
